Julia and I sat beside each other in our favorite high school class: photography. We ate lunch in the same space most days, a comparable replacement to where we ate in junior high, the French room. We had amazing teachers for both those classes (shout out to the Lake Highlands schools!?), and all that time contributed to both a friendship and a hobby.
I remember walking to the park by Julia’s house to take pictures for fun, posing in weird ways by the playground equipment in a way thirteen year olds these days are too evolved to do. But two things still haven’t changed: Julia is still my fashion icon & we’re both involved in the picture taking game. And this session proved it’s still so much fun to shoot together.
My words might not do our time justice, but the pictures absolutely should. (Pink background and pretty much the face of Madewell – come on.) Looking through these blow my mind that my full time job is some version of what I was doing a decade ago, running around as a kid. This day was my turn behind the camera, but Julia’s still active and talented as ever in photography. How lucky are we that a high school class paid off in such dividends?!
Thanks for so much fun, Julia. Let’s do this all the time?!
