These past several weeks I haven’t done much shooting or editing. Instead, I’ve enjoyed the introspection that inevitably accompanies such lengthy pause. I’ve spent time looking at old photos and the story of how I arrived as a full time wedding photographer. Most importantly, I’ve reflected on why I’ve chosen to do what I do. And for anyone interested, I wanted to share.

I believe starting a marriage with a fun day of love, laughs, champagne, beautiful florals, and happy tears is one way to recognize it as a big deal and a sacred union. It’s unique and precious from start to finish, not only marked in the details, but in the company and emotion present at each day.

I document wedding days to celebrate, cherish, and support loving marriages. I believe the experience I create and photos and videos I deliver serve not only brides and grooms but also husbands, wives, and families.

I’m here to be an advocate and eye for unexpected beauty and joy,

to help people feel comfortable in front of the camera when it normally seems intimidating,

and to capture not just how each wedding day looked, but how it felt.

It’s just as sweet to see past clients post real life photos as it is to see my engagement & wedding photos pop up. It reminds me no one’s just having a wedding, everyone’s in it to have a marriage. That reality becomes even more meaningful as many are forced to postpone big wedding days, while their marriages still begin in quiet celebration. I’m so thankful I get to celebrate that with families and friends when the big days come, tangibly honoring their marriage by creating a way to remember their commitment beautifully.

To all my couples – I’m cheering for you long past the wedding day. Through babies, moves, new puppies, and new jobs. I’m so proud to play a role in remembering where your story together started as I watch where it goes. 💛
