Hailey & Luis danced their way down the aisle after getting married, the closest I’ve ever been to my dream of shooting the Forever-Chris Brown-Wedding ceremony deal. I tear up every time I watch that video, and I for sure teared up watching the most joyful newlyweds start the party on their way back down the aisle. They were joined by friends who shared all their enthusiasm, and there wasn’t a stop to all the laughter from those sweet moments on. These people have a really fantastic support system, a really fun one. Their engagement session was my first clue to how fantastic their day would be. Hailey’s Kate Spade wedding-day-Keds were also a good indicator the day would be a good one, but I just couldn’t have predicted what a party it would be until I was in the middle of it, with tears in my eyes from how happy I was for them.
A Mariachi band played the reception, and, let me tell you: up until this wedding I was part of the population who has no idea how fun a Mariachi band is at a wedding. (Ridiculously fun). But the band only started the party; the DJ took the lead after dinner and the dance floor was packed every minute with one of the best crowds I’ve ever seen (scroll to the bottom for some solid evidence!). Packed dance floors keep us busy, so I saved my dancing for the drive home – I was primed for a really active drive home.
I think the biggest part of why this wedding day was such a party (besides the Mariachi band, of course), was the genuine enthusiasm in their family and friends. The toasts showed how loved both Hailey and Luis are in their circles, and their families were overjoyed to unite. I love seeing excitement in the parents, and I could tell theirs were full of it. Everyone agreed the marriage was something to celebrate, and they came ready to cheer and cheer loud. I was so happy to join their fan club.
Hailey & Luis, thank you for letting me celebrate with you. Every moment was so authentically joyful – all I had to do was keep up.
