Some couples commit to marriage using simple and silly words they’ve written for each other. They promise to do things like always laugh at each other’s jokes and remember to participate in household chores. I love laughing along with friends and family as I hear vows that are so true to the couple’s personalities. Some use traditional vows written and recited for hundreds of years. I love the reverence and holiness in words written so long ago.
Vows are special, and now more than ever they are so unique. Nina & Parker’s were some of the most heartfelt and beautiful words I’ve ever heard. My eyes were blurry behind the camera as I captured their teary eyes and certain joy. (I dare you to read without tearing up too – you can find pictures below of their beautiful words displayed!)
I loved spending time with Nina & Parker at their engagement session, but I just couldn’t have even anticipated how sweet their wedding day would be. They were a couple so excited to marry each other you just couldn’t help but be a little giddy with them.
Nina (yes, she looks just like a young Kate Hudson! How did I not notice before her bridals?!), giggled and smiled and gave me the perfect close lipped smile without fail. She was an absolutely glowing bride. I could see the same excitement and anticipation in Parker’s eyes during his time in front of the camera, and I knew it would be magic when I could finally shoot them together after the ceremony.
I wasn’t wrong. They were quick to smile and snuggle and willing participants in everything I asked of them during their first moments as husband and wife. The fun continued during the reception, where, again, they just couldn’t take a bad picture. There’s no way I look so good when I’m dancing.
Nina & Parker, thank you for including me in the very best day. It was such a joy to celebrate and watch your marriage begin in sunshine and our first taste of fall. I loved every single minute.
