Abby + Garrett in Dripping Springs

Shooting the wedding of someone I personally know and love always prompts me to remember the importance and sweetness of what I do on the weekends. This wedding offered just that kind of reminder shooting for a close friend from college. It was such a gift for me to be a part of Abby & Garrett’s journey to the altar from beginning to end.

Abby’s sweet smile and easy laugh is more than my favorite thing as a wedding photographer, it’s something I love as a friend. Seeing her absolutely glow as a bride – surrounded by adoring family, friends, and groom – made me so happy to both witness and capture.

Each time I’ve shot Abby in the past, I’ve been reminded of her sweet demeanor and what a delight she is to be around. The wedding reminded me how many other people feel just the same way. Abby and Garrett are so loved. That’s special to see first hand, and it’s something the wedding day offers better than almost anything in life. How often do you have everyone who means the most to you gathered in one room?!

Beyond all the joy of experiencing Abby & Garrett’s day, it was also a beautiful one to see. Abby picked blush, sage, and eucalyptus greens to compliment their neutral color scheme of tans and white. Garrett and his groomsmen contributed to the pallet with tan suits and Garrett’s tan cowboy hat. Cone Flower Designs created the most stunning bouquets, boutonnières, and decor. Abby’s face lit up as she looked around on the wedding day, and making the bride’s vision come true is the greatest job well done in our line of work. (It doesn’t mean as much, but I was also in love with the florals!).

The reception was filled with joy, dancing, teary toasts, and Crumble Cookies. Their guests took photos under their custom “The Sanfords” sign, made complete with more gorgeous florals by Cone Design.

Abby & Garrett, thank you for including me in your sweet day. I’m such a fan of the two of you and will always cherish the honor of capturing your wedding day. Happy marriage, Sanfords!!!
