Sarina + Sijo

Full of joy, color, and amazing Indian tradition, Sarina & Sijo shared a wedding day I’ll always remember as so special.

Sijo is from India, and moving to a new country during a global pandemic is no easy task. Although many couples dealt with unexpected hurdles in realizing their dream wedding during 2020, Sarina & Sijo couldn’t even share the same country. As difficult as the path may have been, it felt so special to be there and witness all the magic in action when their wedding finally came to fruition. Everything is precious when it’s so hard to obtain, and Sarina & Sijo waited so patiently for the day they could be not only together geographically, but also as husband and wife.

Not only was this wedding day special in its bold colors and ornate decor, this couple took every opportunity to honor their families with love. I saw this in teary hugs getting ready, plentiful toasts and prayers, traditions being honored from beginning to end, and no time being rushed at the expense of showing love to a family member. I just couldn’t respect that more.

But I couldn’t write about this wedding day without mentioning the dancing! Wedding party, family, and of course the bride & groom all participated in an extensive choreographed dance. I loved every moment. Sarina’s parents even surprised the couple with joining in – the looks on their faces as they stepped on the dance floor is one of pure joy, one of my favorite moments from the day. (Do I even need to mention the tears in my eyes?).

Sarina & Sijo, thank you for involving me in your wonderful wedding day. I genuinely loved documenting every sweet moment and elegant detail. I’m so excited for the two of you as you begin this life together, and I’ll be cheering for you always.
