Not everyone gets the opportunity to host a wedding ceremony in a space that already means the world to you. A space that holds sweet memories, a space you’ll always be able to return to. Darby + Riley ran with that opportunity when they dreamed up a romantic and fun wedding day on their family ranch. From the blue bonnets painting the season spring all the way to the band keeping the party going all night long, not a detail was missed executing the wedding of Darby & Riley’s dreams.
The bride & her girls started the day getting ready on the property lovingly named the hacienda. Painted tiles clay terracotta roofing marked the Spanish style home a dreamy and spacious area for any bridal party. I loved capturing the space and shooting some detail photos unique to Darby & Riley’s day using the tile as a backdrop.
When the time came for the ceremony, the sun was just beginning to set. The light couldn’t have been more beautiful hitting pastel florals, greenery, and a cross that marked the spot where friends and family enthusiastically gathered to watch Darby & Riley say “I do.”
While the party got started down the hill during cocktail hour, we were driven down the road to shoot newlywed portraits in a truly magically lush field of blue bonnets. It felt exactly right for their day, and they turned out so breathtaking and joyful.
The reception that followed is one for the books! The band kept the party on the floor all night, a genuine joy to capture. Mini King cakes were offered to guests on their way out and the halo of greenery decorated the night above the dance floor. Not to mention my favorite food from my days in College Station was catered– Napa Flats!
Darby & Riley, your day in your place felt truly special to be a part of. The sweetness of your family & friends gathered to celebrate in an already emotionally relevant place for the two of you is just a really unique thing. Thank you for letting me capture the magic. Cheering for the Rea’s always!
